Play on Android

Note: Google plans extra steps for installing apps from outside Google Play on most phones from 2027. Installing from your browser works today, and this guide will change before that does.
Download the app file on your phone
Open this page on your phone, sign in, and use the download button above.
You should see: a notice that the .apk file has downloaded.
Allow installs from your browser
Tap the file. Android asks whether your browser may install apps: tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, then go back.
You should see: the install screen for Zerowake GATES.
Install
Tap Install. If Play Protect warns about an unknown app, tap More details, then Install anyway.
You should see: App installed.
It says App not installed
The original game from Google Play is probably still on your phone. Uninstall it first, then install this one. Your account on this server is not affected.
Open the game and log in
On a new install the game first shows a small popup: tap Log in to Server. Then create an account or log in.
You should see: the server login screen with Create Account and Log In.
Let it download the game data
The first start downloads about 1 GB. Wi-Fi is best.
You should see: the title screen, then the lobby.
